We’ve been slammed with multiple storms here in Washington state. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I haven’t been posting as often for the past few weeks. Now you know why. I’ve been pretending to be living in Medieval times, because it’s much more pleasant than having to acknowledge the truth:
Without electricity, life really sucks hard.
Also, we have no water. That’s right, you heard me. I’m on well water which means I have no water when power goes out. The horror. I thought I was so clever to be on a well so I would never have to pay a water bill. Well, here’s the flip side of that coin and it is tarnished.
So, another storm is hitting tonight and I anticipate another night of shivering in my bed, clutching Lola for dear life. Lola anticipates we will be sleeping in the car again.
Oh yeah, you missed that tidbit of delight, because I obviously couldn’t post about it at the time and afterwards I was just trying to recover from the ordeal. Lola and I had to sleep in our car because we were so cold and the heat won’t work without electricity. So much for propane heating, apparently you still need electricity to make it run.
I was lied to!
Wish us luck everyone, and we’ll see you on the other side of this storm.
Hopefully.

Oh no!!! Good luck. Definitely not like that here in Australia right now. We are enjoying an extended summer.

I would give anything for a summer right now. We got over 40 inches of rain three days ago and three days prior to that we had a wind and hail storm with gusts over 80 miles an hour and we lost power for two days. I’m very worried about what tomorrow will bring, but I’ve got my flashlight and my bottled water. Lola and I will cuddle!

Hi Heather, it sounds down right miserable where you are! We sometimes run out of water in the summer (the water supply isn’t the best here, especially in summer when the island is full of tourists!).
I hate it when the electricity goes at night, it always feels colder, even if it’s not. We’ve now got a wood burner, so at least we don’t rely on electricity for our heating.
Hope the storms pass quickly and you get your amenities back to normal soon.
xx
