I would like to take a moment before my normal post to remember the tragic events that unfolded on September 11, 2001 in the United States. I recently learned that the generation of students currently in elementary school are not being taught what happened on this day. They are instead told it’s a day for the country to do community service. So I want to take this time to remember all those who died in that terrorist attack, and those who are living without their loved ones. Pretending bad things didn’t happen means that they will repeat again. Embrace history and learn from it. And above all, remember the motto that was born from these events –
Never Forget.
Have you ever been chased by a member of the feathered species? I was once chased by an aggressive male peacock who took exception to my walking on the sidewalk. As a fat kid, running is not my strong suit, but I tell you this – I practically grew my own set of wings to fly away.
