I am a book lover. When the Kindle first released, I had a tremendous amount of anxiety about converting my library to a digital format. I was worried about the platform failing, causing me to lose all the money I had put into purchasing digital books. I was worried that the loss of the book smell would ruin my delicate psyche. I was most especially worried that I would drop my Kindle and be left crying inconsolably while mid-chapter. The positives left me giddy – any book at any time could be downloaded, no more struggling to unpack heavy boxes with each move the Navy demanded of us, and no one would know that I read Nancy Drew so often that the covers tore off.
