Social media never fails to remind me that I am funny, but slightly insane. Here are a few of the moments that you may have missed if you aren’t following me on social media. For those of you who have the pleasure of seeing me in the flesh, I’d like to apologize for those moments where you question how you ever got mixed up with me. Sadly, you’re stuck with me for life.

Now, before you panic and think I won’t be able to blog any more, calm yourself. This is my old iMac, Henrietta. Hubster’s father gifted me a new one, Georgina, but like a treasured friend I keep the old one limping along through sheer willpower. Georgina would be bereft without Henrietta beside her on the computer desk.

This has happened since. I am convinced I am under attack by spiders with superior camouflaging abilities. Each time I sense movement, they blend. It’s really freaking me out!

As if IKEA wasn’t already impressive enough, now they’re helping me gain popularity online. Long live the Swedish meatball!

What can I say but I’m sorry?! I want to say it won’t happen again, but it really may be more your fault than mine. If you don’t see me slightly shaking as you speak, I’ve probably not had enough caffeine for rational thought.

  1. Your IKEA tweet sounds like my PopTarts tweet. Responded to their picture with what certainly wasn’t my best tweet of all time and I got RT and Likes for days. Crazy how that works sometimes.

  2. Is Georgina still under warranty? I was so lucky last year when my Mac died after drinking too much tea (literary) Thankfully hubby had insured it and I only had to pay a couple hundred $$$ for the excess to get a brand spanking new Laptop. #dreamteam

    1. Henrietta is six years old so she’s out of warranty. Georgina is still a toddler and she’s got a great warranty. I knew Henrietta wasn’t doing well when we replaced her but I love her still 🙃 I’m determined to keep her running!

  3. Who knew? IKEA huh? Maybe next time I shall find a convulted way to include IKEA, M&S and a popular celebrity into my next blog post 😂 #dreamteam

  4. Haha 😂Heather you never fail to have me in hysterics with your funny posts. You are officially my hero and the best antedote to a crumby morning. Love that Henrietta has a pal, and really??? Ikea?? What happened there! Long live the Swedish meatball indeed. Thanks for being such an awesome host on the #DreamTeam xxx

  5. This made me properly chuckle, thank you! Though I’m devastated that I did tweet about IKEA yesterday and saw no retweets 😔 Might be something to do with the fact I only have 31 followers as a newbie blogger! 😂 This time next year, Rodney…

  6. Lol IKEA tweet is genius! What did you say btw? I got badly burned by Twitter when I was retweeted a bunch of times on a controversial tweet that was misquoted. It was very annoying and frustrating because you can’t unravel all the rubbish other people write about you, especially when they only read what they want to read and disregard the rest. I had to mute/block the conversation in the end so i have no idea what people are saying behind my back! I’m sticking to the light hearted and nonpoliical stuff now!! #DreamTeam

    1. The tweet was along the lines of the secret to being able to put together their furniture is the correct ratio of meatballs. It was just so odd that it got so much attention.
I’m sorry to hear that one of your tweets got taken so far out of context. I stay away from any political tweets -there are too many crazy people on Twitter who go nuts over the smallest statement.

  7. I do the spider thing too! It doesn’t help that my daughter loves finding spiders and points them out (or what she thinks are spiders- she’s only little) all the time! Argh! #DreamTeam

  8. Twitter’s weird. Some stuff seems to go down well while other stuff dies on it’s arse or gets you in a whole heap of trouble! IKEA though?! Who’d have thought it

    1. It’s just a standard tan couch with leather trim. It doesn’t even have a design on it that could trick me. That’s what’s so perplexing. But I am convinced the spiders are doing it just to push my brain over the edge into complete insanity!

  9. Ha ha I totally agree with the caffeine requirements! I need at least 2 cups before feeling normal. I think I may try the ikea trick to get some retweets too! I love reading other people’s funny quips. Enjoyed the read

            1. I do make my own (Italian) that are pretty delicious but I don’t know how to make a Swedish meatball. And you’re right, I’ve never had Swedish meatballs anywhere else. Maybe I need to find a place that has them…

    1. I don’t blame you, I would’ve set fire to my car! We had a mouse in our house and I had to stay in a hotel until it was caught. I was afraid it was going to nest in my hair like the Little House on the Prairie books from my childhood.

  11. I’m the same with coffee, that’s perfectly normal behaviour in my book – how can anyone function properly before a coffee – or tea? I don’t know about your spider paranoia, though, it’s definitely not the Sofa’s fault. And what were you thinking feeding cake to a computer?! #dreamteam

    1. I’ve enjoyed getting to meet you too! We had a nerve-wracking fourth, poor Lola hates the fireworks. But we cuddled and I gave her cheese and that made it all better 😁
