Chicken is such a boring meat, it requires careful seasoning to become a delicious entrée. What could be better than turning a plain dinner into a sweet treat with bacon?! Nothing. Nothing could be better than that. Enjoy.
Bacon & Brown Sugar Chicken
5-6 chicken thighs
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 TBSP garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
4-6 strips thick bacon, uncooked
Place chicken in slow cooker and season with salt, pepper, and garlic on both sides.
Arrange chicken in single layer with skin side up.
Lay bacon across tops of chicken. Sprinkle brown sugar across the top.
Cook on high for roughly 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
Superhero Tip: You can substitute boneless, skinless chicken breasts but be sure to cover well with bacon to avoid drying out the meat.
Second Superhero Tip: This meal can be done in the oven if you are tight on time. Using a baking pan lined with aluminum foil, layer the dish as you would for the slow cooker. Bake at 400 degrees for roughly 30 minutes.
