There are delicious cookies, and there are decadent cookies. These double dark chocolate chip cookies are quite possibly the most decadent I’ve ever created. Using dark cocoa powder and dark chocolate chips, I can only eat two before I have to take a nap to recover. Sometimes I add peanut butter chips to the batter… guaranteeing my need for a nap after a single cookie.

Double Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract

Large Bowl:
2 cups flour
3/4 cups dark cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

2 cups chocolate chips

Large bowl
Baking pans
Parchment paper
Cooling racks
Ice cream scoop (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine ingredients of large bowl, set aside.
Beat butter and sugar in mixer until creamy.
Add eggs and vanilla, beating until smooth.
Slowly add ingredients of large bowl, mixing on slow speed until fully combined. Add chocolate chips.
Scoop dough onto parchment paper lined baking sheets and bake for 9-10 minutes. Allow them to sit on hot pan for two minutes before moving to cooling rack.

Superhero Tip: Do not bake the cookies for too long, they should be soft and will slowly flatten as they cool.

Second Superhero Tip: Add walnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, or white chocolate chips for a bit of variety!
