Well, I unleashed a Twitter storm upon myself. I had planned on being extremely productive yesterday and today- writing new blogs, getting a chapter in the book done, finishing the Lola cartoon that has been painstaking in its creation. I did none of it. Instead, I put up a poll on Twitter and fell into the rabbit hole. Hundreds of tweets were exchanged. Hundreds. To put this into perspective, I rarely get more than 10 comments/retweets when I put something on Twitter.

My Twitter followers worked out how to have everything they need for the rest of their lives on the deserted island. They worked out the way off the island as well, but since they’ve got cheese, wine, books, hammocks, and Lola, they decided they weren’t coming back any time soon. Maybe when their kids turn 18 and vacate the house. Maybe. Heck, they lured me to the island with the Taco Bell they promised me so I’m not sure any of us will ever return.

Now, I’m off to play on Twitter some more, because my followers are awesome and their brains never stop coming up with brilliant things. I also need some more British insults to use when people around me are stupid. Like I said earlier, it’s a rabbit hole and you never know what you will find!

It's funny. It's strange. My brain thought it. Now yours caught it.

  1. I had this sudden urge to work out how to do one of those fun quiz posts at the weekend. I’m not ready yet because I’be been too busy working out where Ingor the idea from… then I remembered your twitter poll. You know I have to do it now!

  2. Haha that’s great that you had a good response to your poll. I saw that and chose TV, but I’m having 2nd thoughts now. Maybe the Kindle is more useful! So you need British insults, huh? My British husband calls people muppets when they’re being stupid. Use in a sentence, “Stop being such a bloody muppet”, or something like that I guess. Thanks for linking up to #EatSleepBlogRT. Hope you come back next week.

    1. I’m not going to lie, I also chose TV until people started rationalizing how we could get all of the things we would ever need on the island by picking the Kindle. And before you knew it, they converted me! And here I would’ve been on an island with no cake and no books if I’d gone with my gut instinct.

I love Muppet, I am totally going to use that the next time someone’s acting like a dork. I’m over using the word dork, I need something more sophisticated and I think muppet fills that bill.

  3. Haha, I saw your poll on Twitter and had loads of fun reading all of the replies! Of course, I couldn’t actually join in myself because I couldn’t decide what my answer would be, ha!! I hope you’re going to do some more polls?? Thanks so much for linking this up to #DreamTeam! 🙂

  4. Great idea for a poll, not sure I’d take any of those things though. Although the cake would be nice, it’s off my menu at the moment. I would just hope there were loads of coconuts because everything I eat lately has coconut it. I’m not sure how I’d manage on a beach in my wheelchair though?

  5. Haha! What a brilliant poll! I’m going to head over to Twitter to read the responses 😉 my initial thought would be to take a Kindle although I’d have to pinch my husband’s as I don’t own one…I wonder if I’d be ‘rescued’ in a few months’ time by a police escort (after having enough time to properly relax of course) although I don’t suppose this would be great use of their resources just for a Kindle?! #bigpinklink

  7. It seems to me that you could watch your shows and movies on the kindle, as well as read and listen to music. Seems a no brainer to me! I didn’t know you could do that on twitter, I’m a bit clueless when it comes to the twittering #thatfridaylinky

    1. I never realized about the poll either until I saw someone else do one trying to decide what car she should get. I’m not sure I would trust my car purchase decision to the Internet, but all right!

  8. Oooh great poll, I missed that. I went Kindle. I can only watch TV for so long. Also, a great inoffensive British insult my colleague always uses is “numpty”. So when you do something silly you’d say “Oh you’re a complete numpty.” 😀 #BlogCrush

  9. OMG how did I not see this when it was first published??? That evening I spent with you and some of the funniest people in Blogland planning our new life on the island (numpty-free) was one that will stay with me forever! You’re awesome! 😘 #blogcrush
